WOMEN'S MINISTRIES
The purpose of the women's ministry is to provide opportunities for women to grow in their relationship with Christ, to faithfully serve others and to reach lost women in our community. In order to fulfill this purpose we try to offer a wide variety activities to meet a broad range of interests so that women have a place to belong and opportunities to invite others.
Below are some of our regularly scheduled activities and events for you to participate in. Also know that we constantly have other "special" events from time to time. It may be a girls night out to the movies, or shopping trip to Canton, or a ministry project to assist a family. We don't want you to miss out on anything, so keep informed by checking the Women's Ministry board in the hallway at church and here on the website under Upcoming Events and the Events Calendar!
Bible Study
The women’s ministry offers a Friday Morning Bible study from 9:00 to 11:00am and a Wednesday evening Bible study at 6:00pm, both held at the church. For more information on the Friday study, contact Brenda Longley at and for information on the Wednesday study, contact Karen Kelso atKeno
Keno is a fun game that is a mix of cards and bingo. We play as a group once a month, meeting at different host homes. Everyone brings a $10 themed gift and a snack to share. Its a great way to meet new people and to just have fun with the girls.
Specific dates, times and locations vary but are posted on the women’s ministry board in the hallway and in the Events Calendar section of the website. For more information, contact Lorie Baird at
Bunco
If Keno is not your game we also have a group of ladies that play Bunco on the first Monday of each month (except holidays) at 6:30. Bunco is a fun game where you accumulate points and roll the right dice combinations to win prizes. Everyone brings a $15 gift and a dish to share. It also is a great way to meet other women and be involved. For more information, contact Roxie Milsap or email us,
Crafts for Missions
Do you know how to crochet or knit (or sew)? If you do not, and had always had a desire to learn either, now is your chance and for free. The Women’s Ministry has a Crafts for Missions group to make projects, throughout the year, for various supported Alsbury Baptist Church missions, local community, and any others as needed. This group meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 9:00-11:00am. Please join us. Contact Vera Rogers at for more information and to get involved.
